1972 Rickenbacker 4001

1972 Rickenbacker 4001. In Fire Glow this rare bass is beautiful. Original finish is in great shape with little signs of wear. Some finish is missing on the back and some red color was added to the centers belt buckle wear. Checker board inlay in great shape, intact with no disintegration that is so often seen. The great "crush glass" also looking beautiful with virtually no signs of wear. One small crack in the pick guard at the neck pickup screw has been fixed. A small amount of wood has been removed north of the neck pickup route as well as two more small spots near the 3-way switch and pots. Looks like someone had a different pickguard with other electronics at some point, but no other evidence is show. No extra screw holes or cracks. Pots date to 1972 as does the ser #. Finger rest is missing but all other plastic remains. Setup with light strings to keep the neck where it wants to be. These basses are known to have difficult truss rod adjusters . The neck is straight and plays well. w/hsc. In excellent condition. Call or use our chat feature for an in-hand description.
