The Etherwave is an authentic adaptation of inventor Lev Termen's original design.The Etherwave is a quality musical instrument designed for ruggedness and portability. It has a five-octave pitch range and reliable spacing between notes for sophisticated playability. Antennas are nickel-plated 3/8" brass tube and cabinets are furniture-grade hardwood, finished with a custom Moog stain. Introduced in 2001, the Nord Electro has grown into the must-have instrument for gigging musicians everywhere, weekend warriors and stadium headliners alike. Its faithful reproduction of vintage electromechanical keyboards, its lightweight yet roadworthy design, the ease of use, its simple and elegant purpose - all these create a synergy that transforms a piece of digital technology into a truly musical instrument. The technology and design manifest in the Electro2 serves a singular purpose: the best digital emulation of classic electrictronic pianos available in a performance instrument.It starts with the Organ section, which creates its sound from a series of digital models that emulate the internal physical interactions of tonewheel organs such as the Hammond A100, precursor to the B3. The result of this modeling process is an organ sound more faithful to the original than any other clonewheel availble. The Electro2 features a rotary speaker model as well, which recreates the acceleration and deceleration of two rotating horns found in rotary speakers like the Leslie.The Electro2 takes the opposite approach to its vintage pianos. Instead of compressing and truncating the samples, then rebuilding them in a synth engine, the Electro features full samples. Its piano sounds - samples of Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Clavinet, electric grand piano, and even an acoustic grand - are complemented with a rich effects section. With such effects and full samples on the Electro2, you can not only recreate sounds from classic rock, fusion, and pop records, but you have the tools to create sounds just as original and personal as your own voice.

Now you can use digital samples in a virtual analog environment. That means that you can take a sampled sound and tweak it into something completely different in realtime. You now have the full expressiveness of the classic analog synthesizer combined with sample technology available at your fingertips all in a top quality, user-friendly, lightweight package.The Nord Wave has a classic analog synthesizer set-up with filters, LFO's and envelopes plus a massive oscillator section capable of producing classic analog waveformes (with sync), FM-synthesis, wavetables, sampled waves (wavetable with attack), noise and other miscellaneous waveforms as well as-yes-samples. Plus, oscillator modulation allows you to modulate one oscillator with the other; for instance an FM-sound modulated by a sampled sound-the character of the sample is applied to the FM sound.
